WELLNESS EXAMS

Physical exams give us insight into what's going on inside the body. Exams work in collaboration with your medical history and lab results to determine an individualized treatment plan. It's also a great way to establish a baseline for what's normal for your body and we can use the findings to track your journey to health!

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

LAB TESTING

Lab testing works in collaboration with your medical history and physical exam to help us better understand why your symptoms are happening. This may involve blood, saliva, urine, or stool testing and allows us to target your treatment for the most effective results.

"Everything's physical manifestation reflects its inner essence."

- Doctrine of Signatures; Jakob Bohme

CLINICAL NUTRITION

Dietary changes are often necessary in each person's individualized treatment plan. Whether it's food sensitivities, allergies, weight loss, supporting muscle growth, or a strategy to reduce inflammation, it's my preference to use food as medicine whenever possible.

"Let food be thy medicine, and let medicine be thy food."

- Hippocrates

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture can be used alone or in conjunction with other treatment modalities for numerous health concerns including, but not limited to: pain, anxiety, digestive upset, immune support, and fertility. The foundation of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture is rooted in the principle of bringing balance to each body system through the smooth flow of energy, or "qi".

"The human body possesses an inherent ability to heal itself through the mechanisms of homeostasis."

- Benedict Lust

BOTANICAL MEDICINE

Herbs can be used for their powerful properties in the form of infusions (teas), tinctures (alcohol extractions), capsules, and/or topicals in any treatment plan. These may be prescribed from commercial formulations or individualized  formulas made in-house. Did you know many pharmaceuticals are derived from plant extracts or compounds?

"Nature itself is the best physician."

- Hippocrates

INJECTION THERAPY

Intravenous therapy is a way to direct therapeutic doses of nutrients into the bloodstream to bypass your body's absorption. This can be extremely helpful in treating the following conditions: Celiac disease, irritable bowel disease, chronic stress, acute colds, migraine/headaches, chronic fatigue syndrome, and more! Certain nutrients can also be injected intramuscularly; or into muscle.

"Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity"

LIFESTYLE

COUNSELLING

In order to achieve your health goals we need to create a sustainable health plan that encompasses your diet, hydration, sleep, exercise and stress management habits. By adjusting your daily habits, we can overcome the obstacles that are holding you back from your health goals.

"The word e-motion says it all, we want to keep our feelings and energy in motion, rather than locking them in our tissues."

- Sat Dharam Kaur

PRESCRIPTIVE

AUTHORITY

I have extra certification from CNPBC to prescribe pharmaceuticals when indicated. As a naturopathic doctor, I start with the least invasive treatments, that will have lower risk of adverse effects,  and will slowly progress to use more invasive therapies, such as prescription medications, if needed.

"Our task is not to treat the disease, but the patient."

- Vincent Preissnitz

TELEMEDICINE

Telemedicine involves naturopathic consultations via phone or secure video conference calls. This allows me to see patients for new patient intakes or follow up appointments from the comfort of your home. Supplement and pharmaceutical prescriptions can be filled and lab requisitions can be sent directly to Life Labs. This service is limited to patients in British Columbia during the time of their visit. If physical exams are required for assessment, you will be asked to book an in-office visit or will be referred to your family doctor for appropriate assessment.
